Lately during James's imaginative play (which is darling to see, by the way), James will start singing "Happy Birthday" and pretending to blow out a candle. Today should be pretty exciting for him then because we are having an aunt over to celebrate her birthday. Her birthday was technically last weekend, but this afternoon worked better for everyone.
Last night I baked a dark chocolate cake. It is filled with a peanut butter frosting and then covered in a rich chocolate frosting. Unfortunately, I forgot to put some peanut butter frosting aside to decorate the top with, but it will still be tasty. We are going to make some delicious homemade vanilla bean ice cream to go with the cake.
I already made sure we have a candle available as well since that is James's favorite part. James sure is going to love birthday celebrations this year...especially his own!
