After dinner, the boys had baths, and then we dressed them in some warm pajamas and went for a family walk around the neighborhood. Sam rode in the Bjorn, and James lead the way for everyone. Along the way, we encountered a friendly orange cat. Both the cat and James were quite fond of each other. So much in fact that the cat kept following us wherever we went. James would stop and wait until he could see the kitty cat again before continuing on the sidewalk. That cat followed us all the way home and sat whining at our front door for a long while after we returned. Luckily for us, someone driving past in a car mentioned it was their cat...we
were a little nervous that we had met a stray and it was going to want
to live with us. It took over an hour for the cat to decide to wander away from our home.
It is amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy into a child's life. And, if you are curious, no, we will not be getting a pet cat anytime in the near future.
