Usually I am really good about writing thank you cards. In fact my own mother has told me that sometimes she and my dad roll their eyes and wonder why I am thanking them this time when a card comes in the mail...not quite the reaction I expect, but oh well. Anyway...my birthday was back in September, and because of my surgery, I had some wonderful friends provide meals for my family around the same time. I have written a few thank you cards, but I still have more to go. The motivation is just not there. I am determined the finish the ones I have left within the next couple days.
Just in general, though, it seems like thank you cards are a lost art form. I rarely get thank you cards from other people. On the same note, people are not sending paper invitations very much anymore either. With Evite invitations can be sent without requiring paying for postage, so perhaps that is some of the draw. I was shocked last year when I was invited to a kid's birthday party through text message. Part of me misses the days of handwritten cards. Hopefully I can continue pushing through and get out of the rut I am in.
