A Little Clingy

We went to a Saint Patrick's Day party today.  I purposefully dressed both boys in green shirts for the occasion.  While we were there Sam was fairly clingy compared to normal...granted this was a new home to him and there were a lot of people in the house.  Sam was wanting to be held a good portion of the time.  Part of me was grateful for this behavior because so far Sam has not exhibited much separation anxiety...sometimes he will cry when he is first dropped off at the church nursery, but that has pretty much been the extent of that.  Don't get me wrong...I don't necessarily want Sam to cry every time my husband or I are out of sight, but in the adoption world, it is a great sign to see separation anxiety rear its ugly head...it is a sign of secure attachment and bonding.  Once again, don't get me wrong...I do think Sam has bonded to our family, but a little more separation anxiety would help ease both  my husband's and my minds.
