Mud Puddles & Bubble Baths

This morning the boys and I started off by playing in the backyard in our pajamas for awhile.  Then we came inside, got dressed, packed sippy cups and a snack and headed over to our neighborhood park.  Since it is going to be a hot day (compared to the weather we were having), I wanted to get us outside to play early on.  It was a good call too because already there was only one slide that wasn't burning hot.  We played on that slide and walked around.

We just happened to stumble up on a mud puddle created by the sprinklers, so I let the boys go to town walking, stomping, and splashing in the puddle.  They had a blast!  Not only were they able to cool off, but the puddle was located in the shade too which was nice.  Sam slipped and fell on his bottom in the puddle, so James had to copy him and do the same.  The puddle was definitely the highlight of our trip the park this morning.

Back home we took the muddy clothes and hosed them off setting them in the sun to dry.  Then once inside, I made a bubble bath and put the boys in it to wash the dirt off their bodies in a fun way.  They rarely get bubble baths, so it was a special treat, and the boys had a blast playing in the bubbles together.

Nothing quite like starting the day with mud puddles and bubble baths.  : )
