On Saturday, James had woken up at 6:30 a.m. while my mom and I were setting up for the garage sale. I went ahead and took him over to my husband, and they snuggled up in bed. We noticed that morning that James had some dried blood smeared on his face...from a bloody nose during the night.
Last night James woke up in a panicked voice calling out for "Mommy!" When I went in to help him...thinking he had to use the bathroom or something, I stumbled upon a little boy whose face was covered in fresh blood...it was dripping out of his nose, his hands were also covered in blood, and he was pretty scared sounding...the poor little guy! I took him into my bathroom and used tissue to help stop the bleeding...or at least tried my best. I also wet down a washcloth and wiped all the blood off his face, and we washed his hands as well. I offered to change his pajamas, but James didn't want to, so I left him in the pajamas that had a little blood caked on them. When I put him back in bed, I noticed his sheets also had splotches of blood from his bloody nose as well. Of course I will take care of that today and make his bed with nice, fresh sheets.
James woke up about three more times calling out for me because he had a little blood on his fingers he wanted me to wipe away. I am not sure what exactly is going on...my only guess is that James is picking his nose in his sleep...or something along those lines. I felt really bad for my little guy, though, and I hope this problem doesn't continue to cause James alarm and discomfort.
