Now that seat belts have been installed in the Jeep, Sam is able to ride along with James. Boy, did this make James happy because he has really been wanting someone to ride with him! The first time the boys went out together, my husband took them while I ran out grocery shopping. My husband says James put his arm around Sam and held it there for a long time. James told my husband that it was so "Sam didn't fall out". How adorable is that?
We have been out as a family a few times over the weekend, and it is so precious to watch the boys together in the Jeep. They can manage to get along really well for the long period they are in the Jeep together (much longer than they can usually last at home). James tries to be really sweet with Sam. He has even tried to pull Sam's leg down farther, so Sam could press the gas pedal (of course that doesn't work well because Sam isn't tall enough). Today James would turn the Jeep off, pull out the key and allow Sam to hold the key for a little bit before putting the key back in and starting up the Jeep again.
There have been a couple instances where Sam needs a break from the Jeep, so we pull him out and hold him while James continues to drive through and over obstacles. However, James seems most happy when he has a passenger sitting next to him.
