We are participating in a neighborhood garage sale tomorrow. I have been putting stuff aside and trying to organize and price everything over the last couple weeks. For the most part, we are trying to sell most of our baby stuff. There are so many memories behind all the clothing and other items. It is a little hard. I can pretty much tell you where every article of clothes came from and which of the boys benefited from it the most...all that sentimental stuff. I did put aside the outfits and receiving blankets each child came to our home in as well as their favorite blanket and toy. When they are older, they can decide if they want to keep those items, but at least they will have a choice.
Update: The garage sale was a lot of work, but in the end we pulled in just under $200 which I was happy about. Some items I didn't think would sell ended up selling for just a little bit less than the asking price. One of our neighbors bought quite a few of our baby clothes during the sale (she is expecting two grandsons this summer). My husband was out there during the money transaction, and he told her $20 for the clothes, but she insisted on giving us $30 for them. Then after we had packed everything up and settled into the house, our neighbor came knocking on the door to ask if we sold all our baby clothes. She then offered to buy all the remaining clothes. We told her $20 for everything, but once again she insisted on giving us more, and instead she gave us $40 for all the clothes that were left. That worked out well for us, and now we don't have to bother trying to sell the clothing by other means.
