This weekend we walked over to a larger nearby park...technically the boys rode in James' Jeep. We played for a couple hours and then headed back home. While we were at the park, James met a friend who he kicked a soccer ball with, and before that boy left, James offered to give him a ride in his Jeep. A sweet gesture...
James found a ladybug in the grass, and he was delighted by the cute, little bug. He had the ladybug crawling on him, he set it on a tree to crawl, had it crawl on him some more, put it in the grass to crawl, had it crawl on him again, etc. until it eventually flew away. James was just fascinated by the ladybug, and it was so neat to see him study the little one.
Also all the boys...my husband included...climbed a tree together. It started by my husband hanging from a tree. Then he and James climbed it together. Next my husband helped Sam into the tree with James. Then I entertained Sam while my husband and James continued to hang out in the tree together. A simple little activity that brought so much joy to our little ones.
It makes me appreciate having a husband and father in our boys' lives all the more. I doubt I would have thought to have a tree climbing event on our trip to the park. : )
